This is a reminder that the third and final instalment of your fees is due on August 1, 2010. The Board has decided to give an extension till August 16, after this date any club with an outstanding balance will be deducted 2 points per game thereafter.

Furthermore, teams with an outstanding balance will not be permitted to participate in the playoffs. This ruling also applies to Junior Teams. Please note that no further notice will be issued, and any points deducted will not be given back. It was a beautiful day for Cricket in Toronto on July 10th, 2010. It was about 24 Degrees Celcius; a perfect temperature right after a heat wave had hit Toronto. TDCA X1 vs. HDCA were playing their second game for the Norman Jackson Tournament on astroturf at Dixie and Airport Road.

Around 12:45 P.M., the Captain from TDCA X1, Neaz, and the Captain from HDCA, Ali, went for the toss and HDCA won the toss. HDCA decided to field first. TDCA X1 opener Hasaan Mir and Raj went for open bat. It was quite a good start. They made 35 partnership. Hassan got out 15 and then Raj got out 19. There was a little collapse right in the middle; there was no partnership going on. Junaid got out 18 run but Yaseer played an excellent game. Yaseer scored 35 not out and TDCA X1 made 151 all out. Then TDCA X1 went for bowling and it was a great start from Neaz. He got 2 early wickets. Agressive fielding set-up by Neaz. After that Raj and Junid got 3 each. It was excellent bowing by Raj. Yesser did the best job behind the wickets. TDCA X1 bowled them out for 97.

Under-18 (both East and West) Tuesdays 6:00pm in Ross Lord Park
Under-15 West Thursdays 6:00pm in Ross Lord Park.

Games are scheduled for both Under-15 and Under-18 on Fridays at 1:00pm in Ross Lord Park. We are currently thinking of adding a T20 game on Thursdays for players not selected for the Friday games. Priority for selection will be given to players that show up to the practices. Players are reminded of the following requirements;
1. Bring your own practice balls
2. Bring your own water and food
3. $10 game fee

Games
First Game on Friday 9th July 1:00pm - Ross Lord
Games will be conducted weekly in Ross Lord Park

Selection
Players attending the practices will be given preference in selection for the games. Attempt will be made to give opportunity to most players. However, this is intended to be a competitive tournament and priority will be given to selecting the strongest teams. Coaches are asked to be selective and only send the top players out to the practices.

Objective
The objective is to prepare our top players for selection to the national team. We plan to achieve this by
Enrolling players in a coaching program with some of the top coaches in the GTA
Selecting the most competitive teams to play against each other in the age group
Expose players to longer format of the game than the normal junior tournament
Play on natural turf when possible
Tour to California in November
Tour to the Caribbean in March

At the end of the summer the top 24 players would be selected to participate in a high performance coaching program to be conducted during the indoor season.
