Canterbury's winning streak in the Challenge Division began in 2006 and ended on 23 Aug 2008 when they lost to New Edinburgh CC in a closely fought encounter at Lynda Lane 2. Scorecard

The streak encompased 36 games (32 Wins,1 Tie, 3 RO) and in this time Canterbury has been unquestionably the best cricket team in Ottawa.

A quick look at what they have accomplished.

Winner: OVCC Challenge (CHG) cup

Winner: OVCC Six-a-Side championship

Runner up: OCA championship Scorecard
Canterbury represented OVCC in the OCA being the 2006 OVCC CHG Cup winners and qualified for the final by beating H&DCL champions (Crescent CC) at Bradford, and then SOCA champions (Sunrise CC) at Waterloo. The club was beaten by E&DCL champion (Young/Malton CC) in final played at King city.

Canterbury has raised the bar in Ottawa cricket and has been the team to beat for other title contenders. Their bowlers have consistently destroyed the opposition batting while their batsmen have plundered the runs at will. Their strenth also lies in the fact that relatively lesser heralded players have often come to the rescue of the team when their 'stars' have failed.

There have been other dominant teams in the league but to win 32 games in a row is a record which will be hard to beat.

Canterbury plays New Edinburgh once again next saturday on what should be a cracking game.
