One of the closest and most exciting game. Crescent CC won the toss and elected to bat and were crusing along for a big total with the score of 135 for 4 with 10 overs to spare.But Mississauga came back strong in last 10 overs to get the remaining 6 Crescent wickets for 31 runs and restricting Crescent CC to a score of 166. Mississauga went about the chase with a strong opening wicket stand of 80 runs in 21 overs. After the first wicket Crescent with some exceptional tight bowling and desciplined fielding made runs scoring tough for Mississauga batsmen and 3 more wickets were lost in the process including that of young opener Dhruv Patel who got out in search of some quick runs for well made 58 runs. The required run rate was 8 runs in last 5 overs left and eventually it was 9 runs required of last over for win for Mississauga and after first 5 see-saw balls, it came down to 3 runs required off last ball. New Rambler Sameer Syed try to hit the ball too hard and lobbed it straight in the air to extra covers where Qasim got under the ball but due to pressure of the situation dropped the catch while both batsman running at thier full strenght and had crossed over for a single and turned for second runs while Qasim seeing a clear opportunity for a simple run-out, as both batsmen were in the middle of the wicket for tie run, but pressure of the situation got better off Qasim one more time, who threw little too far away from wicket keeper Elyas Karim who was not able to reach to collect the throw and was backed up well at backward square leg but lost the ball in his legs under pressure and Mississauga batsmen, DV Punia and Sameer Syed crossed over for the winning run. A great finish to a very well played game.
