U-15 Ontario Regional Team players

Ontario U-15 Regional Championship Players selection announcement The Cricket Council of Ontario is proud to announce the selection following forty eight (48) U-15 players, plus reserve players who will participate in Cricket Council of Ontario U-15 Regional Championship tournament that is starting from May 30th, 2013 at Ross Lord Park. The players will be divided into four (4) teams; the formation of teams will be announced at the ground before the game. The tournament is T-25 format with some specific rules; each team will play up to six (6) matches. All selected players are required to: 1. Register at the ground with Photo ID. 2. Players are requested to contribute $50 toward the tournament to cover balls, umpires, scorers, kit and other necessary expenses. Any surplus money will be bank toward junior future programs. 3. Must wear their own white kit (tournament official shirt and the cap will be distributed later) 4. The reserve squad will be used fill injured player spot on the team or if player is not able to attend the tournament. 5. Please arrive at 4:30 PM for registration verification The Cricket Council of Ontario executives and coaching/selection staff would like to thank all the players who participated in the trials and the parent for their cooperation and efforts. Coaching staff will be doing their best to help young crickets learn through experience and while having fun playing the game. Annoucement of Ontario Junior Coaching team

Cricket Council of Ontario is pleased to announce the Ontario junior program coaching team. The team will work under the direct supervision of Shah-Saleem Zafar, in charge of Junior Program Development for Cricket Council of Ontario. The new structure, with qualified coaches is a key area of progression for Ontario junior Cricket development program and the aim is to get more Ontario players to move into high Performance group and ultimately to go on and play for Canada and first class cricket..... I believe all the coaches are passionate about coaching youth, have extensive experience, skills and enthusiasm to make a significant contribution to the cricket program in Ontario and Canada..........Farouk Kirmani, who has been recently appointed as Ontario Head Coach will lead the coaching team.........Please join me in welcoming Farouk Kirmani, Kantharatnam Shanthikumar. (Shanthi), Sanjeewa Perera, Dr. Sameer Bhagirathi and Philip Navaratne to the Ontario Cricket Council Coaching team and in congratulating all of them on their new roles. CCO Welcomes New Member

In a historic gathering of young cricket enthusiasts and experienced administrators, Eastern Ontario Cricket Association was formed on 29th October 2011. In a well organised membership meeting in Belleville, Ontario the foundation of the new association was laid, when new members passed a resolution to create the new association which will become the official member representing eastern Ontario in the Cricket Council of Ontario (CCO).

Maple Leaf Trustees Issue Statement

Maple Leaf Cricket Club Trust is the titled owner of the cricket facility at King City Ontario. The Trust, as owner of the facility, recognizes that the priority and historical user of the facility to be Toronto & District Cricket Association. The Toronto & District Cricket Association has and continues to develop, invest, maintain, and play on the facility and has done so for 50 years. In fact the Toronto & District Cricket Association originally purchased the facility in 1955 and owned it before transferring ownership to the Trust. The Trust does not recognize any user of the facility, other than by the Toronto & District Cricket Association. This announcement is made in order to clarify the incorrect perception that the facility has been leased to another party. Since the Trust must be party to any lease of the facility and it has not signed any such lease, any claims to the use of the facility, other than Toronto & District Cricket Association, is without merit.
