2011-11-01 CCO Welcomes New Member
In a historic gathering of young cricket enthusiasts and experienced administrators, Eastern Ontario Cricket Association was formed on 29th October 2011. In a well organised membership meeting in Belleville, Ontario the foundation of the new association was laid, when new members passed a resolution to create the new association which will become the official member representing eastern Ontario in the Cricket Council of Ontario (CCO). 2011-06-24 California Cricket Academy Toronto Tour
The Cricket Council of Ontario would like to share the following exciting development with the Cricket Fraternity of Ontario. We will be hosting an U-13 team from the California Cricket Academy who will play 5 games against U-13 Teams in the Toronto area, including a CCO Select U-13 Team. They are expected to play one 20/20 and four 40-over games. The 13 boys from the CCA team will be accompanied by their Coach, Mr.Sukalpa Biswas and a Team Manager Dr. Srikantan Nagarajan, as well as some relatives. They are expected to arrive in Toronto June 24 and remain until June 30. The Cricket Council of Ontario?s President, Mr. Leslie Soobrian and his Executive are extremely enthused about the coming tour, and have declared that ?It presents an opportunity to forge cross-border and coast-to-coast links at the earliest competitive levels of the sport. . 2011-06-16 ANOTHER BUSY MONTH FOR CRICKET CANADA KIDS
With the conclusion of the school year fast approaching across the country, Cricket Canada KIDS continues to bring cricket to school children nationwide. This past week, Cricket Canada KIDS visited Park Lawn Junior Middle school in Toronto. Over the course of two days another 200 students at the school were introduced to the game of cricket. Cricket Canada are very grateful for the opportunity to come into Park Lawn and introduce cricket to the school. It was a great time for both the kids and our instructors and we look forward to supporting their fledgling cricket program next school year. Cricket Canada KIDS has been very active in 2011 in conjunction with the Toronto and District Cricket Association and the Cricket Council of Ontario in visiting schools in the province of Ontario. In addition to the Park Lawn visit, Cricket Canada continues to visit schools throughout the country. This week, particular focus will be spent in Quebec City where, in conjunction with the Quebec Cricket Federation, Cricket Canada will deliver the KIDS program to teachers in the Quebec City area.

2011-06-10 CANADA'S FIRST OFFICIAL WOMEN'S CRICKET LEAGUE ANNOUNCED IN TORONTO
Cricket Canada continues to push into exciting new areas as the Toronto and District Cricket Association is proud to announce Canada's first ever official women's cricket league. The league will start next week in Toronto with 4 women's teams competing in a round robin and playoffs. In order to get the league off the ground, both the Toronto and District Cricket Association, Cricket Council of Ontario and Cricket Canada have committed financial and logistical support. 2011-03-28 Maple Leaf Trustees Issue Statement
Maple Leaf Cricket Club Trust is the titled owner of the cricket facility at King City Ontario. The Trust, as owner of the facility, recognizes that the priority and historical user of the facility to be Toronto & District Cricket Association. The Toronto & District Cricket Association has and continues to develop, invest, maintain, and play on the facility and has done so for 50 years. In fact the Toronto & District Cricket Association originally purchased the facility in 1955 and owned it before transferring ownership to the Trust. The Trust does not recognize any user of the facility, other than by the Toronto & District Cricket Association. This announcement is made in order to clarify the incorrect perception that the facility has been leased to another party. Since the Trust must be party to any lease of the facility and it has not signed any such lease, any claims to the use of the facility, other than Toronto & District Cricket Association, is without merit. 2011-03-24 2011 GTA Mega T20
The 2011 GTA Mega T20 tournament will take place starting June 1 to August 15. Semifinals and finals on September 15th. With over $15,000 in prize money. Winners take home $10,000. Matches to be played in the evenings in Toronto, Etobicoke, Brampton, Mississauga and Markham. Start time for games will be from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Entry fee is $1,000 per team.
